​​ART Appreciation for English Language Learners!

 

This is a unique opportunity bringing Art Appreciation and English Conversation together into one creatively communicative learning experience, blending English language instruction with artfully inspiring, animated and innovative activities, enjoyable collaborative challenges, with virtual and in-person visits to local Art exhibitions and stimulating  sites of artistic interest in pursuit of our study and practice!

AAEELL is expressly designed to support those who are curious about Art and ART LOVERS and aficionados who are motivated to improve their ability to communicate more comfortably and confidently within the amazing Art, architecture, music, beauty, dance, travel, nature and design realms (at an intermediate English speaking level), allowing learners to express their artful feelings, creative voices and personal life experiences within a relaxed atmosphere of conversation and conviviality, providing a way to encourage expanding artistic vocabulary, Arts-focused knowledge and creative meaning about Visual Art and Fine Art History from socio-cultural sources and natural origins around the world, in a joyful, uninhibited ambiance, with a sense of discovery, discussion and delight!
 

We will experience Art and discuss our reactions to it - including the artist’s techniques, styles, the Foundations of Art, Colour Theory, Interior Design, Ancient Greek, Roman, Egyptian and Buddhist Art, Renaissance Art, French Impressionists, Modern and Abstract Art and even the growing areas of Performance and Street Art, as well as the impetus behind the creative processes and more!
 

Learners will also have a chance to experiment with and participate in various individual and group Art practices and challenges and a variety of Art media, in our sessions.
 

Trips to Art galleries will improve relaxed communication skills, encouraging learners to engage in natural discussion about Art making and their Appreciation, as well as via writing reflections, short descriptions, critiques and exhibition reviews.

Through a variety of dynamic teaching methods, exciting subject matter and stimulating projects, students will build confidence, learn to express their ideas more effectively and colourfully and gain an expanded appreciation of Art and beauty ~ the universal language for ALL!

 

Be prepared to accept challenges, learn how to critique Art, become illuminated, support each other as a team, become brave, feel cool, clever and confident speaking about Art and have FUN!

As an International Fine Art, Visual Art, History of Art and Architecture and ESL Specialist Educator of over 35 years, I’m passionate about and open to all Arts-related topics and it will be my joy and privilege to guide your artistic journey, expanding your Art knowledge and conversational skills, within our friendly group of Arts Appreciation for English Language Learners and beyond!
